the new camera rocks

We are back from the beach. It was a fun, fast trip and as always we enjoyed hanging out with our friends, Liz and Brandon. Since we got home on Sunday, life has been non stop. Doctors visits, mommy group, birthday parties for a certain 3 year old and then planning a party for a certain first-born-daughter of mine. Saige will be 5 TOMORROW. Oh, y'all, I can hardly believe it. But more on that later.

I also enjoyed messing around with my new camera at the beach and getting reacquainted with Photoshop once I got home. These are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.

Beach Blast

We had an absolute blast at the beach this past weekend! As you can tell by Reed's face. This time, as opposed to last time, the kids played in the water the entire time. I was especially proud of Saige, as she has always been a bit hesitant to get in the water. Meadow laughed harder than ever and Reed was FEARLESS. It was so entertaining to just watch them enjoy themselves. The second day was windy and overcast, but it didn't stop them. Kids have a surprising amount of tolerance and it didn't keep them from getting in the water.

Our hosts, Liz and Brandon, were so much fun and we are so thankful for their hospitality!

So like I said, we had an amazing time and I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

We are headed to the beach for a little R&R. We are going to see some friends who are fun to hang out with and who love our kids. In the words of Saige, "I can't wait to see Liz and Brandon, so we can pour sand and mud on them.

The Beach, A Fish and A Wedding

Can I just tell you that I have fallen in love with Florida? Patrick and I went to Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL for 5 days and had the BEST time! We got to lie on the beach, Patrick got to go fishing and I got to hang out with girlfriends. We stayed at the homes of some lovely family friends and felt so welcome (and we got to eat their food). And the end of our time there was the wedding of one of my best friends, Lauri, which was the culmination of a fabulous vacation.
We missed the girls, (thank you grandparents) but the trip was so relaxing and refreshing that I think it has made me a better mom. Or atleast it gave me a better tan! Ha!
