the new camera rocks

We are back from the beach. It was a fun, fast trip and as always we enjoyed hanging out with our friends, Liz and Brandon. Since we got home on Sunday, life has been non stop. Doctors visits, mommy group, birthday parties for a certain 3 year old and then planning a party for a certain first-born-daughter of mine. Saige will be 5 TOMORROW. Oh, y'all, I can hardly believe it. But more on that later.

I also enjoyed messing around with my new camera at the beach and getting reacquainted with Photoshop once I got home. These are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.
Enjoy!

I love, love, love this final shot of my three crazies just as the sun was setting.
Glorious weekend!

Friday Favorites

My kids have been playing together so well lately. They are all at good ages, to where all 3 will really play together. So it has been a lot of fun around house lately. These are some of my favorite photos from the past month.

Happy Friday, y'all!

Mother/Daughter Haircut

I took Saige along with me this afternoon and I asked her how she wanted her haircut and she said like mine. Awww.... And she said wanted it just under her ears. Her wish is my command. Well, unless she said she wanted it shaved like her Daddy's - that ain't gonna happen. ;)

Here are the before and after:

These pictures of me are not the best in the world and it might not be the most drastic haircut in the entire universe, but I LOVE it. It's a lot lighter color in real life than these pictures show. I guess the Mac photo booth is not the best choice for taking pictures, but whatevs. You get the idea.

Miscellany Monday

Punch Dub!

The girls have been playing Punch Dub in the minivan lately. The sweet friend who takes them to BSF taught them the game, but she taught them to punch their own hand and not each other, for which I am thankful. They thoroughly enjoy "collecting" cars and colors and they have added PT Cruisers and Smart cars to the mix. So while driving I will often hear Meadow yell, "Crunch Dub," as opposed to Punch Dub ( I had to google it because I could have sworn I grew up saying "Slug Bug" or "Punch Bug" and I was right, Volkswagen changed it to Dub recently). Saige is good at counting them up and they'll play this game for awhile, so I get to enjoy my music while we're in the van. It's definitely a win-win.

Police Cars

While driving to church last night, a police car came speeding by with its lights on. The girls all yelled and wanted to know what that was about. Meadow said, "Mommy, did you see that? We need to buy one of those!" I asked, "What, the lights?" She said, "No, the car because it went fast, fast, fast! It went SUPER fast! I want to buy one!" O, Lord, help me now.
Saige explained to Meadow that the police officer was going fast to give someone a ticket. And if they have to give you another ticket, they'll take you to jail. She said, "Jail is not a good place, because there are no toys in jail." Is that not the most apt description of the first born and the second born — the rule follower and the rule breaker?

Ode to the Fitted Sheet

O, fitted sheet, why do you torment me so?
You taunt me with your corners,
You mock me with your nonconformist ways.
Sometimes I leave you in the dryer,
Just so I don't have to deal with the misfit that you are.

It's not all about you, you know.
Other things do take precedence,
Like walking the dog and washing my hair.
And so in a jam, I will wad you up in a ball
And place you under the smooth, polished top sheet
All to hide your dissenting flaws.
From whom I wonder?
Is there a closet fairy who judges my shelves,
Taking note of the unkempt linens and the mismatched towels?

O, fitted sheet, you will torture me no more;
I am free of your affliction.
No longer will I heed your imaginary rules.
If I were a bit more prim, I might actually care,
But c'est la vie, arrivederci, au revoir.
O, pestering fitted sheet,
I will do what I want with you
You are not the boss of me.

A Picture Post

I recognize that some of you, namely family, just check my blog to see if I have posted pictures of my adorable kids. So this post is for you.

In true southern girl fashion, I present to you my daughters in matching Easter attire

We had a great time celebrating with each of our families over the Easter weekend. Whatever you think about celebrating this holiday, I love whenever our families get together. I love any excuse to get all of the cousins together. They have 4 cousins on Patrick's side and 3 cousins on my side. This post is mostly for family so I am just going to post a bunch of pictures and not say too much. Enjoy!
