Saige's Princess Party was a success! And I learned something about myself in the process. I LOVE to plan a party. I love to make the invitations, decorate, make the cake, think up games, etc. What I DON'T LIKE is being the party coordinator. This was the first year that I had games for the little ones and it didn't go that smoothly. I am just not gifted in working with children amongst chaos. I didn't really get to enjoy the first half of the party because I was too concerned with the details. I plan on asking someone next year to be the game host while I enjoy my daughter in all her birthday glory. Live and learn. I suppose. But besides that, it was fun. Saige turning 3 made for a great birthday because she was really excited when all her friends showed up, she was excited about her princess decorations and loved the castle cake. She talked about playing games and eating cake for the next several days. And my personal favorite questions occurred each morning for 3 days, "Mommy, am I still 3? How old am I going to be at my next birthday? When is my next party? Can we dance again next time?" The freeze dance was definitely the best part for the little ones. :)

ReplyDeleteThe cake looks awesome!!! Darbi is drooling over the idea :o) She has been wanting a princess party and the wheels are turning. We may end up with a combined princess and spiderman party. I wanted to plan a Clifford the Big Red Dog party but they both have their mind made up, for now :o)
